This past week our sanctuary hosted over 20 Brookfield Academy students as they spent the day planting our pollinator garden and painted furniture for our cat building. The students, who are part of the 5-star service week at Brookfield Academy's Summer Days program, volunteered their week making bird houses, bird feeders, bee houses and cat toys that they then brought and set up around the sanctuary. They even hosted a car wash in exchange for donations to our sanctuary! We are so grateful to these amazing kids showing true 5-star Character! In return the kids learned about importance of pollinators and about the mission of our sanctuary. They even got the special treat visiting with Bowser, Eva, Malorie, Henry and Tally as well as a special visit from our newest kitten resident, Mochi.
